A circular depression approximately 16 metres across is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. It is situated in a field to the north of Higher Northcott. It has a possible surrounding bank, however this is not clearly defined.
The depression does not correspond with any features depicted on the available 19th century historic maps. The plot is recorded as ‘Menapark’ in the Tithe Map, which may derive from “maen” – stone.
The earthwork depression is interpreted as a probable post-medieval or early 19th century extractive pit that ceased to be worked by the 1880s.
