Linear banks, circa 3 metres wide and orientated north-east to south-west and north-west to south-east, are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2004 and 2013. The earthworks are situated within land parcel 1679 on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, which is recorded as an orchard on the accompanying Tithe Apportionment. They do not correspond with any features on this map, or on later available historic maps, but are in keeping with the surrounding historic field pattern.
The form of the earthworks supports the interpretation they are possible relict field boundaries of medieval or post-medieval date that had probably been removed by the mid-19th century, by which time an orchard had been planted in this location. One of the visible banks at SX37538281 could represent a former tree planting bank of this orchard.
