Curvilinear banks, circa 10 metres wide and orientated north-east to south-west and north-west to south-east, are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013.
The earthworks do not correspond with any curvilinear features shown in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps, but are in keeping with the surrounding historic field pattern, which is characterised as post-medieval enclosures.
The form of the earthworks supports the interpretation that they are relict field boundaries of medieval or post-medieval date. The field boundaries define two separate rectilinear land parcels and had been removed by the mid-19th century.
Understanding Landscapes Project, 2020-2021, University of Exeter Understanding Landscapes Project - Volunteer data, 450.11 (Interpretation). SDV363949.
An earthwork of a large ringed enclosure. SX 3953382182.
