The depression does not correspond with any depicted features.

An earthwork depression is visible.

An oval depression approximately 28 by 15 metres is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. It is situated in a field between the river and the road to the north of Greatdown Plantation.
The depression does not correspond with any features depicted on the available 19th century maps. An old quarry is depicted on historic maps to the east.
The earthwork depression is interpreted as a probable post-medieval or early 19th century extractive pit that ceased to be worked by the 1880s.
