The mound does not correspond with any depicted features. It is situated in a plot recorded as ‘Wheat Burrow’ (Plot 519).

A circular mound circa 25 metres across is visible as a subtle earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. It is situated at 160 metres above Ordnance Datum on the north-west edge of a plateau in a field north-east of West Peeke.
The mound does not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps. The plot name is recorded as ‘Wheat Burrow’ in the Tithe Survey, possibly relating to the presence of a barrow or deriving from ‘burh’ meaning fortified place or stronghold.
The mound earthwork is tentatively interpreted as the ploughed out remains of a Bronze Age barrow.
