Full description

Fisher, J., 1999, East Devon Conservation Area Appraisals: Budleigh Salterton, 9 (Report - non-specific). SDV346418.

In Cliff Terrace are further early 19th century villas, mostly three bay with incised end pilasters, and long private gardens to the cliff edge. Numbers 1-2 and 7 are listed, as is the thatched circular gazebo in the garden of number 6. Other details: Maps.

6, Cliff Terrace, (Beechcroft), Budleigh Salterton. Designed by architect William Hatchard-Smith, inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement. Two storey detached dwelling (1935 – 38). Details held at the Fairlynch museum. Double bay frontage, rendered with slate roof. Prominent position within the conservation area.

Two storey detached house designed by architect William Hatchard-Smith. Double bay frontage, rendered with slate roof. Prominent position within the conservation area. New slate roof and UPVC windows where can be seen, but original rainwater goods and render. Unspoilt setting. Some do not think it is a Hatchard Smith design.
