4, Dark Lane, High Knowle, Budleigh Salterton. Two storey detached dwelling (1923). Large detached house remodelled by architect William Hatchard-Smith in 1962. Rendered elevations with a clay tile roof and original features, sensitively restored. Agatha Christie visited High Knowle regularly as a friend of the previous owners and is pictured in the garden of the house. Reason for Local Listing is age, aesthetic value and historical association.
