Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The curvilinear bank does not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps, however it is parallel to an adjacent depicted field boundary.

A curvilinear bank circa 110 metres in length and 12 metres in width is visible as a subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2004 and 2013. The bank is orientated approximately north-south in a west facing field east of Leatpark Wood.
The bank does not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps, however it is parallel to an adjacent depicted field boundary. The historic landscape is characterised as barton fields.
The bank earthwork is interpreted as a medieval to post-medieval field boundary that passed out of use prior to circa 1840. Alternatively, it may have a geological origin.
