The depression corresponds with a small area of depicted woodland. The plot name is recorded as ‘Great Quarry Park’ (Plot 66).

An irregularly shaped depression circa 40 metres by 25 metres and surrounding irregularly shaped bank circa 70 metres across and 22 metres wide are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2004 and 2013. It is situated on level high ground in a field south of Moortown Plantation.
The earthworks correspond with a woodland copse depicted on the available historic and modern maps, which passed out of use in the late 20th century. The field name is recorded as ‘Great Quarry Park’ in the Tithe Survey for Tetcott. The earthworks are visible on aerial photographs dating from 2002 and 2006.
The depression and surrounding bank are interpreted as a post-medieval extractive pit with spoil heap that ceased to be worked by the mid-19th century.
