Summary

Two curvilinear banks are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013 south-east of Lana. They are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval origin, that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.

The banks do not correspond with any depicted features, however one bank aligns with a depicted field boundary to the north.

Two curvilinear banks orientated approximately north-west to south-east and both between 10 and 20 metres in width, are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The banks are situated in a south-east facing field south-east of Lana. One of the banks is circa 175 metres in length and one circa 95 metres in length.
The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps, however one of the banks aligns with a field boundary depicted on the available historic and modern maps. The historic landscape is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields.
The banks are interpreted as medieval field boundaries that may have formed part of medieval strip field system and that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
