Full description

Alan Oxer, 1920-2012, Ground photographs of 11 Moorlands Road (also known as Moneens and Howewath), Budleigh Salterton (Ground Photograph). SDV366558.

Ground photographs show 11 Moorlands Road in its original form in the 1920s, in 2010 with a modern flat roof extension, in 2011 wih works underway to a new roof structure for the extension, and in 2012 with the new roof structure in place.

11, Moorlands Road, Moneens, Howewath, Budleigh Salterton. Two storey detached dwelling (1927).
Designed by architect William Hatchard-Smith, inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement. Details held at the Fairlynch museum. Mainly original form and with sensitive restoration. Some additions to the form (southern gable) but recently altered to blend with original building. Fine setting in large grounds. Reason for local Lisitng is age, aesthetic value and archival interest.
