Ting Tong: Whitewater House, Budleigh Salterton. Two storey detached dwelling (1926). Designed by architect William Hatchard-Smith, inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement. Details held at the Fairlynch museum. Main building retains original form and slate roof with vertical hangings. Original architectural detail and fine setting within large grounds. It was home of Commander Surgeon George Murray of Scott's 1911 Antarctic Expedition. Reason for Local Listing is age, aesthetic value, archival interest and historical association.

Approximate date built: 1926. Two storey detached house designed by architect William Hatchard-Smith. Double bay frontage, rendered with slate roof. Footprint looks unchanged from OS and historic maps apart from new adjoining building to rear. Looks like original slate roof and vertical hangings, and windows. Fine setting in large grounds. Home of Commander Surgeon George Murry of Scott's 1911 Antarctic Expedition.
