Two sections of curvilinear ditches, one circa 92 metres in length and one circa 210 metres in length and both circa 3 metres in width are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2004 and 2013. They are orientated approximately east to west in a west facing field south of Affaland Farm.
The ditches do not correspond to any features depicted on the available 19th century maps, however they are in parallel to adjacent field boundaries. The historic landscape is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields.
The ditches are interpreted as a former field boundary of medieval to post-medieval origin that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
