Possible ditch defined field boundaries, enclosures and small ring ditches of probable late prehistoric to Roman date were visible on aerial photographs as cropmarks on a gentle terrace to the south-west of Heazille Baraton, Rewe, overlooking the broad floodplain of the Culm Valley to the south-east. Two interconnected rectilinear enclosures, the smaller forming part of the western edge of the larger, possibly formed the hub of the complex at circa SS95050028, with linear ditched features, possibly field boundaries, possibly aligned upon it from the north. Two small ring ditches visible as faint cropmarks to the west might be evidence of small structures or pits. A right-angled cropmark at circa SS95080025 might be evidence of the western corner of an additional enclosure, but the visible cropmarks end at an extant field boundary and did not continue into the adjacent field to the east.
This complex was previously recorded with an additional possible cropmark enclosure to the south. This is now recorded separately as MDV108825.
