Summary

East Rightadown is first documented as Eastritedon in 1244 and as Estryghtedon in 1418. Two buildings which include a dwelling are shown on the mid 19th century Tithe map and named East Rightadown. Expansion of the farmstead is apparent by the late 19th century.

Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.

Farmstead shown on circa 1840s tithe map, named East Rightadown. One dwelling and a building to the south is visible. The tithe apportionment names the site as Homestead

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

The dwelling appears unaltered in plan but the building to the south of this has either been reduced or replaced by a smaller building. Expansion of the farmstead is apparent by the addition of several outbuildings to the north.
