An irregular shaped depression circa 28 metres by 25 metres is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2004 and 2013. The earthwork is situated on the edge of a north-west facing field north-west of Kennicott.
The depression partially corresponds with a small narrow plot of coppice woodland (Plot 1358) recorded in the Tithe Map and depicted on subsequent maps and aerial photographs until the early 21st century.
The depression earthwork is interpreted as an extractive pit of post-medieval origin that passed out of use prior to circa 1840 and the land used as a coppice woodland.
