A curvilinear bank circa 115 metres in length and between circa 7 and 10 metres in width and flanking ditch circa 3 metres in width are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2004 and 2013. The bank and ditch are orientated approximately east to west on a gentle east sloping field north-east of Fernhill.
The earthworks do not correspond to any features depicted on the available historic or modern maps. The historic landscape is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields.
The bank and ditch are interpreted as a former field boundary of medieval to post-medieval origin that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
