It is interpreted as relating to formal landscaping associated with the early 20th century property of Rooksmoor, possibly a tennis court.

The rectangular terraced area is faintly visible as a cropmark or earthwork. The property of Rooksmoor is visible to the east, which appears to have been built between circa 1906 and the 1940s.

The rectangular terraced area is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs dating from 2000 onwards. Photography from 2007 shows a possible earthwork of similar shape and size closely to the south, however this is not clearly visible in other photographs and is not visible on lidar visualisations.

A large rectangular cut or terraced feature circa 32 metres by 15 metres is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013. It is situated on a gentle west sloping hillside to the west of the property ‘Rooksmoor’.
The earthwork does not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic or modern maps. It is visible as a cropmark or earthwork on aerial photographs dating to the 1940s, and is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs dating from 2000 onwards. 2007 aerial photography shows a possible similar feature immediately to the south, which may have been subsequently levelled.
The plot is depicted as agricultural on historic maps. The property of Rooksmoor appears to have been constructed between circa 1906 and the 1940s when it is visible in the aerial photography.
The dimensions of the earthwork are approximately that of a standard domestic tennis court.
The rectangular earthwork is interpreted as relating to formal landscaping associated with the early 20th century property of Rooksmoor, possibly a tennis court, that passed out of use by the mid-20th century.
