Summary
A turf-covered stony cairn on the moderate west-facing slope of Shovel Down first recorded by the Ordnance Survey in 1974. It measures 6.5 metres in diameter with a maximum height of 7.5 metres. The top displays two amorphous hollows about 1.0 metre across and 0.15 metres deep. A disturbed cist (MDV13023) lies 55 metres west-north-west (1991 Shovel Down Survey).

Full description
Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1974, SX68NE52 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV256038.
(17/7/1974) At SX 6532 8562 there is a turf covered cairn 7.0 metres in diameter and 0.7 metres in height. It is on a south-western slope some 200 metres south of the nearest settlement and field system. The cairn is small but this is not unusual in the area and is presumed to be sepulchral and of Bronze Age date. Surveyed at 1:2500.

It measures 6.5 metres in diameter with a maximum height of 7.5 metres. The top displays two amorphous hollows about 1.0 metre across and 0.15 metres deep. A disturbed cist (SX 68 NE 75/MDV13023) lies 55 metres west-north-west.
