Summary

Three parallel curvilinear banks are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013 south of Buckland Monachorum. They are interpreted as medieval field boundaries that may have formed part of a strip field system that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.

The earthwork banks do not correspond with any depicted features, however they are parallel to an adjacent depicted field boundary

Three short parallel curvilinear banks between circa 10 and 20 metres in width and circa 80 metres in length are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013. The banks are situated in a west facing field south of Buckland Monachorum and are approximately 20 metres apart.
The earthwork banks do not correspond to any features depicted on the Tithe Map, however they parallel with an adjacent depicted field boundary. The historic landscape is characterised as post-medieval enclosures with medieval elements.
The banks are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval origin that may have formed part of a strip field system and passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
