A short curvilinear ditch circa 50 metres in length and between 5 and 7 metres in width is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013. The ditch is situated in a south-west facing field north-east of Alston and is orientated approximately east to west.
The ditch does not correspond with any features depicted the available historic maps and is interpreted as a field boundary of medieval to post-medieval origin, that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
