A curvilinear ditch circa 245 metres in length and 15 metres in width is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013. The ditch is situated in a north-west facing field north of Buckland Abbey, and orientated approximately north-west to south-east.
The ditch does not correspond to any features depicted on the available historic maps, however it does align with a field boundary to the north-west. The historic landscape is characterised as post-medieval enclosures with medieval elements.
The ditch is interpreted as a medieval to post-medieval field boundary, that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
