Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The earthwork does not correspond with any depicted features, however the banks adjoin a depicted field boundary. The plot is recorded as Lee Wood or Little Leigh Wood.

A curvilinear ditch is visible as an earthwork.

Two parallel curvilinear banks orientated east to west and between 45 and 90 metres in length, are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019. The banks are situated on a steep south facing slope within Leigh Wood.
The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps, however they adjoin a depicted perpendicular field boundary to the east. The plot is recorded as woodland in the Tithe Apportionment and has consistently been recorded as woodland subsequently.
The banks are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval to post-medieval origin, that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
