A series of parallel linear banks circa 8 metres in width and ditches circa 5 metres in width and orientated approximately east to west are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013. The earthworks are situated in a north-east facing field immediately west of Hurlditch Court.
The earthworks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps. The plot is recorded as under arable cultivation in the Tithe Apportionment. An orchard is recorded in the plot to the east.
The earthwork banks and ditches are interpreted as post-medieval planting ridges for orchard trees that passed out of use prior to circa 1840. Alternatively, they could be post-medieval to 19th century narrow ridge and furrow probably created for agricultural improvement and drainage.
