Parallel earthwork banks, circa 4m wide, are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007. The banks are closely spaced and are aligned across the contours of the south facing combe slope, occupying an area of approximately 0.10 hectares. The visible banks correspond with an orchard which is depicted in this location on both the late 19th century and early 20th century First and Second Edition Ordnance Survey maps. The orchard has been completely cleared on aerial photographs taken in the mid-20th century.
An orchard in this location supports the interpretation that the earthworks are the remains of 19th century tree planting banks, the fruit trees having been established on the earthworks for increased soil depth and improved drainage.
