A curvilinear ditch circa 170 metres in length and 15 metres in width is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013. The ditch is orientated north-east to south-west and spans a west facing field north-west of Hurlditch Down.
The ditch does not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps, however it is parallel to surrounding field boundaries. The historic landscape is characterised as medieval enclosures.
The ditch is interpreted as a medieval to post-medieval field boundary that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
