Summary

Curvilinear banks between 8 and 20 metres in width are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2005 and 2013. One of the banks forms a T-shape, while the other aligns with it to the immediate north. They are situated across two west facing fields east of Hardstone Farm.
The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic or modern maps, however they are parallel with surrounding field boundaries. One of the banks aligns with a field boundary on the other side of the B3362. The historic landscape is characterised as medieval enclosures.
The banks are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval to post-medieval origin that passed out of use by the mid-19th century. Alternatively, part of the earthwork may be of natural origin.
