Summary
A series of parallel curvilinear banks are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2005 and 2013 south-west of Wrixhill. They are interpreted as field boundaries of probable medieval origin that may have formed part of a strip field system and that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.

Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The earthworks do not correspond to any depicted features, however many are aligned with surrounding depicted field boundaries.

A series of parallel curvilinear banks between 5 and 11 metres in width and orientated north-west to south-east, are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2005 and 2013. They are situated across three south-west facing fields south and south-west of Wrixhill.
The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps, however many are aligned with adjacent depicted field boundaries. The historic landscape is characterised as medieval enclosures and medieval enclosures based on strip fields.
The banks are interpreted as field boundaries of probable medieval origin that may have formed part of a strip field system and that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
