An irregularly shaped earthwork mound, approximately 20 by 30 metres with a narrower ‘tail’ to the north-east, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013. Other possible earthworks are visible n the same parcel of land, and it is possible that they are naturally occurring. However the proximity of mining remains at nearby Wheal Conquer and Wheal Grace could add credence to an interpretation as mining waste, and this may be the remains of a spoil heap of possible post-medieval date.
Understanding Landscapes Project, 2020-2021, University of Exeter Understanding Landscapes Project - Volunteer data, 382.6 (Interpretation). SDV363949.
Possible circular enclosure about 25m across with part ditch and bank outline. Close to Wonwood farm buildings and may be a disused dewpond. Sx42577731
