A curvilinear ditch circa 8 metres in width and branching into two in its south-west part is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. It is orientated approximately north-west to south-east in a south-east facing field west of Poflet Pastures. An area of marshy ground is depicted to the south-east on the Ordnance Survey Mastermap, with a small stream issuing from it.
The earthwork does not correspond to any features depicted on the available historic maps, however it does align with field boundaries to the north and south. The historic landscape is characterised as ‘medieval enclosures based on strip fields’.
The ditch is interpreted as a field boundary of medieval to post-medieval origin that passed out of use prior to circa 1840. The ditch may partially function as drainage into the natural water course to the south-east.
