Several parallel curvilinear banks are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2004 and 2013. They are orientated north-east to south-west in a south-west facing field north-west of Longbrook Farm.
The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps, however they are in parallel with adjacent depicted field boundaries. The plot is recorded as ‘Water Leat’ in the Tithe Apportionment, comprising a plot above the depicted settlement of Higher Longbrook, now no longer present. The historic landscape is characterised as post-medieval enclosures with medieval elements.
The banks are interpreted as field boundaries of probable medieval origin that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
