A circular depression circa 10 metres across and an oval depression circa 11 metres by 8 metres, are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The depressions are situated on a moderate east facing slope within a field south-east of Eastcott Barton.
The earthworks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps. They are situated within an area of lynchets of probable medieval origin.
The depressions are interpreted as extractive pits of post-medieval origin. It is possible the eastern depression may be of natural origin.
