Summary

Several parallel curvilinear banks are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013 north of Endsleigh Gardens. The banks are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval origin that may have formed a strip field system and that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.

Several parallel curvilinear banks circa 8 metres in width are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The banks are situated in a south-west facing field north of Endsleigh Gardens.
The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps. The historic landscape is characterised as ‘post-medieval enclosures with medieval elements’.
The banks are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval origin that may have formed a strip field system and that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
