Morris, B. + Lichtenstein, L., 2017, Adjoining Land at Canal Rise, Southfields, Bridgerule: Results of a Desk-Based Assessment and Archaeological Evaluation (Report - Evaluation). SDV360927.
An archaeological evaluation on land at Canal Rise/Southfields recorded a shallow, oval pit (103) circa 2.95 metres diameter and 0.23 metres deep in Trench 1. Its single fill included charcoal and some burnt stones. Although, undated (there were no finds) the charcoal and burnt stones could potentially hint at a medieval or prehistoric date.
