Two earthwork pits, covering approximately 30 by 40 metres, are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013 on a hillslope south of Wheal Grace. They are not depicted on the available historic mapping and it is possible that they are natural in origin. However given the proximity of mining remains at nearby Wheal Conquer and Wheal Grace it is possible that these were extractive pits related to post-medieval mining activity, which went out of use before the late-19th century.
