A series of curvilinear banks between circa 7 and 17 metres in width are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2005 and partially visible on data captured in 2013. The banks are orientated north-south across two south-west facing fields north-east of Dunterton.
The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps, however they are parallel to adjacent depicted field boundaries. The historic landscape is characterised as ‘post-medieval enclosures with medieval elements’. A deserted medieval settlement is recorded closely to the west (MDV78652; MDV106196).
The banks are interpreted as medieval field boundaries that formed part of a strip field system and that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
