Summary
Two curvilinear ditches are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013 south of Sherrill House. The ditches are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval to post-medieval origin, that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.

Two curvilinear ditches are visible as earthworks.

Two curvilinear ditches, one circa 85 metres in length and one circa 150 metres in length, are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. They are orientated north-west to south-east in south-east facing fields south of Sherrill House.
The ditches do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps. One of the ditches spans the width of a field recorded as ‘Homer Tor Park’. The other aligns with a field boundary depicted to the south-east. The historic landscape is characterised as ‘post-medieval enclosures with medieval elements’.
The ditches are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval to post-medieval origin, that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
