Summary

A leat which draws water from Newleycombe Lake to power a small waterwheel over one kilometre distant. It commences in deep streamworkings, crosses enclosed land and a deep streamworkings via a minor earthen embankment. It then follows the contour around the lower slopes of Down Tor, through an area of clitter before discharging at the wheel pit. The tail race empties into a deep streamworking.

(20/05/2008) A leat which draws water from Newleycombe Lake to power a small waterwheel over one kilometre distant. It commences in deep streamworkings, crosses enclosed land and a deep streamworkings via a minor earthen embankment. It then follows the contour around the lower slopes of Down Tor, through an area of clitter before discharging at the wheel pit. The tail race empties into a deep streamworking. Surveyed at 1:2500 scale.
