The ditch does not correspond with any depicted features. The ditch leads into a recorded woodland to the north-east.

A curvilinear ditch circa 140 metres in length and between 15 and 25 metres in width is visible as a subtle earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013. The ditch is orientated north-west to south-east in a north-west facing field north-west of Buckland Abbey.
The ditch does not correspond to any features depicted on the available historic maps. It aligns with a trackway depicted on the Ordnance Survey 25 inch First Edition map and subsequent historic and modern maps in the woods to the immediate north-west. The woodland is recorded as ‘North Blandwill Wood’ in the Tithe Apportionment.
The ditch is interpreted as a section of trackway of medieval to post-medieval origin that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
