Two oval shaped depressions both circa 20 metres by 10 metres are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019. One of the depressions is flanked by two small mounds both circa 9 metres across. The earthworks are situated on a north-west facing slope in woodland north of Halsepark Wood.
One of the depressions corresponds with an ‘Old Quarry’ depicted on the Ordnance Survey 25 inch First Edition map and with earthworks depicted on the Second Edition map and the 2021 Mastermap.
The earthworks are interpreted as extractive pits with spoil heaps of post-medieval to 19th century origin.
