The earthworks do not correspond with any pit features in this location.

Earthworks of three oval and irregularly shaped pits, between 10-30 metres long, are visible on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013 and 2019.
The earthworks do not correspond with any pit features in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps which show this area as comprising woodland of Clamoak Poll Wood.
They are interpreted as post-medieval or early to mid-19th century extractive pits that had probably passed out of use by the late-19th century.
The earthworks are not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to thick tree cover of Clamoak Poll Wood.
