The earthworks do not correspond with any depicted features, however one of the banks aligns with a depicted field boundary. The plot is recorded as woodland.

A series of curvilinear banks between circa 3 and 9 metres in width are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013 and 2019. The banks are situated on the west facing slopes of Blaxton Wood. One of the banks extends into a field to the east of the wood and appears to have been spread up to 16 metres in width by agricultural activity.
The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps, however one the banks aligns with a depicted field boundary. The plots is recorded as woodland in the Tithe Apportionment and depicted as such on maps thereafter. The historic landscape is characterised as ‘ancient woodland’ and ‘post-medieval enclosures with medieval elements’.
The banks are interpreted as field boundaries that formed a field system of medieval origin.
