Two parallel curvilinear banks between circa 4 and 6 metres in width are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013 and 2019. The banks are orientated north-east to south-west in a north-west facing field north-east of Maristow House.
The westernmost may correspond approximately to a field boundary depicted on the Tithe Map. The banks are situated within a plot recorded as an orchard, which passed out of use by the late 19th century. The historic landscape is characterised as ‘park/garden’ and the land forms part of the wider grounds of Maristow House.
The banks are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval to post-medieval origin, one of which passed out of use by the mid-19th century, and one of which passed out of use by the late-19th century.
