A series of narrow parallel curvilinear banks between circa 2 and 5 metres in width and a curvilinear ditch circa 3 metres in width are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013 and 2019. The earthworks are orientated north-east to south-west in a north-east facing field south-east of Kingswell Farm.
The banks partially correspond with field boundaries associated with a farmstead depicted on the Tithe Map in the south-west part of the field, which appears to have largely passed out of use by the late-19th century. A spring is depicted to the immediate south, with a stream flowing to the north-east through the southern part of the field. The historic landscape is characterised as ‘medieval enclosures based on strip fields’.
The earthworks are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval to post-medieval origin that partly passed out of use prior to circa 1840. Alternatively, they may be associated with post-medieval or 19th century drainage.
