Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The bank does not correspond with any depicted features, however it aligns with a field boundary immediately to the north-east.

A curvilinear bank circa 75 metres in length and 10 metres in width is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013 and 2019. The bank is orientated north-east to south-west in a north-east facing field east of Battens Farm.
The bank does not correspond to any features depicted on the available historic maps, however it does align with a field boundary depicted to the north-east. The historic landscape is characterised as ‘medieval enclosures based on strip fields’.
The bank is interpreted as a field boundary of medieval to post-medieval origin that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
