A series of 5 oval depressions each between circa 6 and 10 metres across, each with adjacent mounds between circa 2 and 5 metres across, are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019. The earthworks are situated on the west facing slopes of Webber’s Wood.
The earthworks do not correspond to any features depicted on the available historic maps. The plot is depicted as woodland on the Tithe Map and subsequent historic and modern maps.
The earthworks are interpreted as possible charcoal burning platforms or prospecting pits with spoil heaps of post-medieval origin.
