Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The ditch does not correspond with any depicted features, however it aligns with a field boundary to the north-east.

A curvilinear ditch circa 4 and 6 metres in width and 60 metres in length is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019. The ditch is orientated north-west to south-east on south-east facing woodland of Well Wood.
The ditch does not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps, however it does align with a depicted field boundary to the north-west. The historic landscape is characterised as ‘Ancient Woodland’.
The ditch is interpreted as a field boundary of medieval to post-medieval origin, that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
