Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The banks do not correspond with any depicted features, however one of the banks aligns with a field boundary to the west.

Several curvilinear banks between circa 2 and 6 metres in width are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013 and 2019. The banks are orientated both north-east to south-west and north-west to south-east either side of a combe south-east of Well Farm.
The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps. The westernmost bank aligns with a depicted field boundary to the west. Two of the banks are interrupted by a later curvilinear ditch. The historic landscape is characterised as ‘medieval enclosures based on strip fields’ and ‘orchard’.
The banks are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval to post-medieval origin that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
