Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The banks do not correspond with any depicted features, however they are parallel to adjacent depicted field boundaries.

Several parallel curvilinear banks between circa 6 and 9 metres in width are visible as earthworks derived from lidar data captured in 2013 and 2019. The banks are orientated north-east to south-west in a south-west facing field east of Norton Farm.
The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps, however they are parallel to adjacent depicted field boundaries. The historic landscape is characterised as ‘barton fields’.
The banks are interpreted as field boundaries of probable medieval origin, that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
