Several interlacing curvilinear earthwork ditches, up to 7 metres wide, are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2007 and 2013 across Collacombe Down. They run broadly parallel to the roads aligned north-south and north-west to south-east, which are depicted on the Tithe maps. Th earthworks interpreted as possible earlier routeways, or contemporary routes taken if the roads were impassable, perhaps medieval or post-medieval in date but potentially earlier.
